The Chicago Theater has a little of everything this April!

Chicago+Theater

Chicago Theatre offers variety of Duos, Comedians, and Bands this April.  There’s something for everyone!

Two Cellos: April 2 & 3, 2016

Propelled into international fame in 2011 after their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” went viral, 2CELLOS (Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser) continue to wow their fans with dynamic music videos and covers of today’s most classic and popular songs (including their Baroque inspired, yet high octane head-banging video of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”).  This duo have returned to their rock roots with their new album Celloverse, and they have no limits when it comes to performing (and rock out!).

Wanda Sykes: April 6, 2016

You’re in for a good laugh (or two, or three) with “one of the funniest stand-up comics” – Wanda Sykes! From “The Chris Rock Show” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” to “The Wanda Sykes Show” and “Wanda at Large,” it’s no wonder why she has been ranked as one of Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Funniest People in America!

The Avett Brothers: April 21-23, 2016

There’s something powerful in the air, and it’s the Avett Brothers —Seth Avett, Scott Avett, Bob Crawford, and Joe Kwon. They have performed on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman as well as joining legendary Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell for a rapturous Pearl Jam tribute on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. A string of sold out shows followed as the boys continued to dream up their next step. Much like their own music, it promises to continue tradition, while making a decidedly personal statement. If you keep your eyes, mind, and heart open, you’ll undoubtedly feel it.

Happy Birthday to Billy Goat under Michigan Avenue!

For 52 years, Chicago’s favorite haunt hasn’t been on Michigan Avenue, it’s been under it!

On March 4th, 1964 Billy Goat Sianis moved his tavern to the current subterranean Michigan Avenue location. The original Billy Goat was located on Madison Street, across from the Chicago Stadium. Thanks to the large following of newspaper men who were regulars at the Billy Goat, it was only natural that the new location be situated between the Tribune and Sun-Times buildings.

Spring is in the air, so are baseballs.

Will this be the year, Cubs fans? Another Spring Training is here and the Curse of Murphy the Billy Goat is in its 70th year!

Remember last year that Kris Bryant started the year down on the farm with a goat? He went on to win Rookie of the Year.

Remember how hot the Cubs were heading into the playoffs, only to be eliminated by a guy named “Murphy”?

How much more proof do you need that the Curse of Murphy the Billy Goat is REAL!!!
