New Wrigley Renovations

AS we’ve said many times before, if the Cubs want to reverse the Billy Goat Curse, they must truly embrace the goat. So, now that they are planning new renovations to Wrigley Field, we have a few suggestions:

  • The visitors bull pen should be renamed “The Goat Pen” and contain real goats
  • Goats should be used to keep the outfield grass trimmed just right
  • Billy Goat Tavern should have a restaurant in the park so fans can watch the game and enjoy a juicy Cheezborger
  • The Goat should have a permanent seat at every game – especially during the playoffs

It’s time that the goat was finally let in!

We want to hear your suggestions too. Be sure to leave them in the comments below!

Remembering Mike Royko

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 16 years. On April 29th 1997, the world lost a great writer and we at Billy Goat Tavern lost a great friend in Mike Royko.

Royko helped make Billy Goat into a legendary reporter hangout. Today, journalism students from across the country make the trip under Michigan Avenue to enjoy a cheezborger surrounded by Royko’s articles. It’s an amazing experience.

One of Mike Royko’s favorite things was playing 16″ softball. We sponsored his team. Check out the video above to catch a glimpse of the “real” Royko enjoying some time at The Goat.
