To the monster who delivered the goat’s head to Wrigley:

There are proper and humane ways to lift a curse. Billy Goat Sianis used to say “Be kind to animals, and be kind to me.” His curse certainly can’t be broken by butchering the animals he loved. Take a look around our tavern, and you’ll see pictures joy animals brought to Billy- goats, cats, ducks, even an elephant!

People have actually asked us if Billy Goat Tavern is responsible for delivering the goat’s head. The answer is NO! Check out an article by Rick Telander here.  ‘‘No, no, no!’’ Sam said. ‘‘That was a very, very mean guy. Really mean guy to do that. Why?’’

The last time the Cubs won the World Series…

It’s been 104 years since the Cubs won a World Series. We thought we’d commemorate the milestone with a few observations about 1908.

The last time the Cubs won a World Series in 1908…

– the Titanic was under construction. So was the Cubs’ farm system. Eerie coincidence?

– their Opening Day pitcher’s name was Orval Overall, who went on to win MVP: “Most Vicious Parents.”

– space flight was just a dream. So was the Cubs’ next World Series.

– the Hoover Company was founded. Ironically, the Cubs have sucked ever since.

– the Empire Carpets guy threw out the first pitch.

– Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were killed in Bolivia. The Cubs have been killing their fans ever since.

– the first year the New Year’s ball was dropped in Times Square. Oh, the irony.

– the same year funnyman Milton Berle was born. Berle died in 2002, making the Cubs America’s oldest comedy act.

Another Year of the Billy Goat Curse

The Billy Goat Curse officially lives on another year now that the Cubs are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

LET THE GOAT IN!

The Cubs were once one of the best teams in baseball until they made one horrible mistake in game four of the 1945 World Series. Since then, the years have yielded pain and anguish for Cubs fans. Yet, the goat has still not seen his game!!! With every year that goes by, the curse gets harder and harder to break. For the sake of Cubs fans everywhere, LET THE GOAT IN!
