St. Patrick’s Day Events in Chicago 2016

Lucky for you, Chicago is THE place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. And if your luck couldn’t get any better, there are multiple Billy Goat Taverns to visit when your hunger hits.

Can’t miss events on Saturday, March 12!

DYEING OF THE CHICAGO RIVER

It wouldn’t be St. Pat’s Day in Chicago without the annual dyeing of the Chicago River. Best views can be seen along the Michigan Avenue bridge, but be sure to arrive early to claim a good spot! Once the river transforms into Chicago’s very own Emerald Isle, the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade will commence.

THE CHICAGO ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

After the Chicago River is dyed green, the sound of bagpipes, Irish dancers and drum corps will fill the air in Chicago’s annual Irish parade along Columbus Drive.
NAVY SHORELINE SIGHTSEEING ST. PATRICK’S DAY CRUISE

Enjoy an Irish buffet filled with corned beef and cabbage, indulge in a full service cash bar, and tap your toes to live Irish music – all while cruising along the gloriously green Chicago River! Highly popular, completely festive, and a great way to celebrate St. Pat’s Day.

We’ll be serving green beer and great borgers. Our Michigan Ave. location is just blocks from the Chicago River, and don’t forget to stop by our Navy Pier location after the Sightseeing Cruise. Slainte!

Tim Weigel Remembers a Softball Party at Billy Goat

“One night after a loss, we headed to the tavern to lick our wounds and gargle a few beers. After a while, Sam brought a goat in for a drink. The goat smelled pretty bad and Mike kept feeding the goat $1 bills. Then someone hands Mike a $10 bill and the goat eats it. Just a couple minutes later, the goat lets loose with a fusillade of pellets on Mike’s shoes. Seeing this, Sam yells from behind the bar, ‘Hey, Mike. He gave you change.'” – Tim Weigel from the book “A Chicago Tavern” –http://tinyurl.com/jsv7elt
